ACADEMIC INFORMATION
Online courses at Saint Dominic University are not self paced, they are based on a 10 weeks quarter system, three quarters per academic year and two short summer terms. Academic credit is given in quarter units.
Students will have due dates for their assignments, projects, papers, tests and quizzes. Students are expected to regularly check the courses electronic bulletin boards and follow the course calendar provided within the syllabus.
CLASS LEVELS
Classification is based on completed quarter credits as follows:
Undergraduate classification
Bachelor degree students:
Freshman : 00 - 44
Sophomore : 45 - 89
Junior : 90 - 134
Senior : 135 or more
A minimum of 180 quarter units of credit is required to graduate.
Graduate classification is as follows:
Masters Students: Bachelor degree + A minimum of 48 quarter credits
Doctorate Students: Master degree + A minimum of 90 quarter credits or Bachelor degree + A minimim of 135 quarter credits
Masters by Research
Master's degree by research :A minimum period of one year full-time from the date of first registration for the program or two years part-time from the date of first registration for the program.
PhD by Research
Minimum research period : A minimum od two years full-time from the date of first registration for the program for students with a acceptable Masters degree or three years with a acceptable Bachelor degree OR Four years part-time from the date of first registration for the program for students with a acceptable Masters degree or six years with a acceptable Bachelor degree

ATTENDANCE
Students will no longer have to worry about their class schedules as all courses are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students have the flexibility to schedule their courses according to their needs, and do not have to commute to a particular campus at any time.
For the purposes of defining residency, academic progress and tuition fees, full-time attendance is defined as follows:
FULL-TIME ATTENDANCE
Undergraduate Students: A minimum of 12 credits per quarter
Graduate Students: A minimum of 10 credits per quarter
Written advisor consent is required when students wish to exceed the normal unit loads of 15 credit units for undergraduate students and 14 units for graduate students.
HALF-TIME ATTENDANCE
Undergraduate Students: A minimum of 6 credits per quarter
Graduate Students: A minimum of 6 credits per quarter
Only students over the age of 21 will be allowed to take half-time undergraduate study.
All graduate students may take halt-time study if they wish.
