Academic Support
Saint Dominic University is committed to providing helpful and informed guidance to all students in all programs. Faculty advisors or mentors are available to consult with students on issues of performance, policies, regulations, rules, curriculum requirements and course choices.
All students will be allocated an academic advisor following registration.
The Academic Advisor evaluates the students progress through checking quizzes, tests and reports in each subject area, to assess their academic performance and offer individual guidance where needed.
Our experienced Academic Advisors are conversant with instructional strategies, and the university programs. Each student will be assigned an Academic Advisor on enrollment to a course which can be contacted at any time.
A general academic advisor is also available to all students and prospective students for discussion prior to registration and may be contacted on: gadvisor@stdu.org
In preparation and planning of their dissertations and prior to being allocated a professor, prospective doctoral students should also contact the relevant graduate academic advisor who will put them in touch with the appropriate faculty.
FACULTY MEMBERS
Registered students will be allocated a faculty member for each course they are taking during that quarter. Faculty members are available to help students with their studies and will be available during online classes or contacted by e-mail to answer any questions or help with any difficulties.
The assigned instructors also give assignments and closely monitor their students’ performance and progress to develop a close relationship with them and an understanding of their learning development, to evaluate their progress and monitor their performance, skills, and attendance , to guide on the steps required to improve learning.
Each student is provided with an Saint Dominic University e-mail address which is the official method for communicating course work and projects deadlines and other important information.
