College of Business
Our mission at the College of Business at Saint Dominic University is to provide high quality education that will allow our graduates to lead and succeed in today's diverse, global and technologically sophisticated business environment which features rapid changes and developments, extensive competition, a diversified work force and continuous and pressing demand for improvements in quality and services.
The College of Business has two departments which offer a wide range of options both at undergraduate and graduate levels with opportunities of specialization and research in several disciplines:
DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
The Business Administration undergraduate programs offer knowledge in the foundations of various aspects of business administration such as accounting, economics, ethics, laws, management, marketing, finance and statistics. The Department of Business Administration recognizes the necessity for continuous and dynamic individual and organizational learning and provides solid grounding in the fundamentals of business administration, training students to deal with the prevailing dynamic local and global markets.
The department offers the widest range of graduate programs at the university. The Master and PhD degree programs prepare learners to advance to higher levels of specialization and leadership and are offered in several fields of study through both course and research programs.
The M.B.A programs provide the student with an opportunity to either concentrate on a specific area, or broaden their current scope of experience by using the general M.B.A. option. The M.B.A. program is also effective in bringing a managerial perspective to professionals from non-business backgrounds. So candidates from non-business disciplines such as engineers, and computer specialists, who need to broaden their horizons and increase their potential, can acquire the relevant business knowledge and skills by following one of the various concentrations offered under the M.B.A. programs.
The M.B.A. and PhD programs in Business Administration prepare students for future leading positions in government, industry, and consulting or for successful academic careers as faculty members. The PhD programs curriculum is designed to provide graduates with in-depth exposure to a specific business content area, sophisticated analytical methods, and adult education techniques. They offer specialization as well as research in any of the fields shown below.
The programs at the Department of Business Administration provide core business studies which are designed to offer a multi-disciplinary and global approach to meet the current unprecedented challenges driven by the increasingly global economy and rapid technological innovation.
