DEPARTMENT OF HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM
The department offers two diploma courses; the first is a general course suitable for working in tourism, hotels, restaurants and travel and the second is more specialized suitable for working in the Hotel and Restaurant industries.
DIPLOMA COURSES
Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism
The course covers: Travel, tourism, airlines, hotels, resorts, hotel reservations and sales, restaurant services, catering, food and beverages, marketing and sales in the tourism industry, hospitality accounting, cost control, legal aspects and insurance, hiring and managing staff and customer relation.
COURSE LENGTH:
MINIMUM PERIOD: 24 WEEKS
MAXIMUM PERIOD: 12 MONTHS
Diploma in Hotel and restaurant Management
The course covers:
Catering, menu planning, food preparation, restaurant and banquet services, food service sanitation, purchasing and Storage, food preparation, menus, front office operations and sales, hotel reservations, housekeeping and management, convention and events management, marketing and sales in the tourism industry , hospitality accounting, cost controls, legal aspects and insurance, hiring and managing staff and customer relation.
COURSE LENGTH:
MINIMUM PERIOD: 24 WEEKS
MAXIMUM PERIOD: 12 MONTHS
