International Students

Saint Dominic University welcomes applications from all over the world but the University must be satisfied of the standard of the applicant's qualifications before they are accepted. International undergraduate applicants, must submit their home country’s educational system certificate, or one of the qualifications listed in the admissions section

All students who are not native English speakers are required to satisfy the English proficiency requirements before beginning an academic program.


ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

All the tuition is in English and the English Language proficiency requirements may be met by satisfying one of the following conditions:

1. Applying as an native English speaking student: All students who are native English speakers or from countries where English is the official language .

2. Students who:
• Studied for at least three years in a school where teaching is predominately in English or
• Have an undergraduate or graduate degree which has been taught in English

3. Produce Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum score of 500 for the paper-based or 173 for the computer-based TOEFL

4. Produce International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 overall in either the Academic or General Training modules.

5. Produce the Saint Dominic English Language Certificate (Intermediate Level II) or higher.

6. Produce other acceptable English test certificates. The university accepts as a wide range of recognized certificates in English. Please submit the English qualification that you have and the admissions office will inform if it is acceptable.

7. If the students has a score lower than that required in 3 or 4 above the admissions officer may at his discretion accept the lower score on the condition that the student pursues one or more English courses at the university.

8. Pass the Saint Dominic English Proficiency Test.

9. Provide any other proof of English proficiency which is acceptable to the admissions officer.



The above English Proficiency requirements do not apply to students applying to Diploma courses. Please refer to the Diploma catalog for further details of the admission requirements.
